Hovenweep

We continue to take advantage of the area we live in by visiting all of the facinating historical sites. With Charlie, Heather and Finn in town visiting from Florida, we wanted to take them on a great hike to see thousand year old ruins. Hovenweep is a site built between 1200 and 1300 AD and use to house up to 2,500 people. It is located about a hour drive from Durango. We also stopped at another obscure site, Lowery Ruins. IMG_1812 IMG_1837 IMG_1836 IMG_1835 IMG_1834 IMG_1833 IMG_1832 IMG_1831 IMG_1829 IMG_1828 IMG_1827 IMG_1826 IMG_1825 IMG_1824 IMG_1823 IMG_1822 IMG_1821 IMG_1820 IMG_1819 IMG_1818 IMG_1817 IMG_1816 IMG_1815 IMG_1814

  1. You might have missed it, but the photo of the two people standing on the rock with Twin Towers behind them…if you look at the left of them on the rock, you can see the three grinding areas.
