Went to Steamboat Springs, a seven hour drive from Durango, to attend the Colorado Parks and Recreation Association conference. As always I took the bike to meet up with some friends and ride some pristine single track. The fall colors where changeing and hitting their peak. Since I was staying at the base of the resort, I rode the ski hill several times. Zig Zag to Valley View to Rustlers Ridge was a good loop. The downhill trail Creekside was another good one. We also rode Emerald Mountain trails on the other end of town. The climb up Lupine to the freshly cut Morning Gloria trail was quite nice climbing up about 1,500 feet. Then the downhill trails Quarry, Blair Witch and MGM were really fun. Steamboat is not only a great ski town, but also a great bike town.
